‘A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game,’ stated the president of SCE Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida.
Sony’s The Last Guardian has once again been delayed, and will now release on the 6th December 2016 in the United States, the 7th December 2016 in Europe and the 9th December 2016 for the United Kingdom and Ireland. The game will be playable on PS4, as a single-player title.
Yoshida explained the reasoning for the delay over the PlayStation blog:
‘A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game, but we have encountered more bugs that anticipated while in the final stages of development.’
‘To ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game’s creators have envisioned, we need to take the extra time to work on those issues.’
‘Fumito Ueda, gen DESIGN and JAPAN Studio have a wonderful vision for The Last Guardian’s touching, emotional journey of friendship and trust, and we want to deliver the most polished experience possible for our fans who have supported us for so long.’
Originally scheduled for release on the 25th October 2016, The Last Guardian is expected to be one of the biggest and most anticipated games to come out during the remainder of 2016.
